The droguier of the faculty of pharmacy of Montpellier finds its origin in 1588, when the apothecary montpelliérain Bernardin Duranc brings together drugs and medicinal preparations intended for the teaching of medical students.
Revived with the creation of the School of Pharmacy in 1803, it is now the second oldest drugstore in France, after that of Paris.
A true witness to the history of European pharmacopoeia, it preserves nearly 15,000 samples, mainly of plant origin. This exceptional ensemble has been listed as a historical monument since 2009.

Founded in 1972 by Albert Ciurana, pharmacist, the museum traces the long history of pharmacy in Montpellier.It highlights the discoveries of the masters of this faculty, the teaching of pharmaceutical art, the different facets of the profession, as well as the evolution of medicine.Permanently enriched by donations, it is run by volunteer graduate pharmacists.
