The hotel of the department goes back in time by revealing its history!Part of the services of the departmental council of Loir-et-Cher is located in the former 17th century convent belonging to the order of the Visitation Sainte-Marie until 1791.This tour of the historic buildings (cloister and its garden, chapter house, and the old church rehabilitated into a room for deliberations) will be an opportunity to hear the story and anecdotes of the daily life of the first occupants of these places: the Visitandines.

On Friday, September 19, 2025, on the eve of the European Heritage Days, the hotel in the department of Loir-et-Cher opens its doors to the school public. As part of the operation "Lever les yeux", enjoy the animation of the exhibition "Architecture and Sport" created on the occasion of the Olympic Games and a guided tour of the department hotel (former convent of the seventeenth century).Three formulas proposed to meet the desires of teachers:
An animation of the exhibition alone (about 1h)
A guided tour of the department’s hotel alone (about 0:30)

It allows identifying the national issues that opened and put an end to these major trends and to make a comparison with the equipment built in Loir-et-Cher over the same period, by approaching the historical context from a more local angle. This exhibition is intended to be interactive.
