The organ of the temple has a year of existence and is now an important element of the heritage of the place and the cultural life of Montpellier.
In addition to the visits of the temple traditionally organized on the occasion of the European Heritage Days, a specific lighting will be proposed around this instrument.
With the help of projections, the public will discover the fundamental principles of an organ’s operation, as well as the history of the project: its birth, development, creation, financing and objectives. The presentation will then address the composition of the instrument, its characteristics and the musical repertoire it allows to interpret.
A discussion time will allow to answer the questions of the audience. To conclude, some organists from the AOTM, Les Amis de l'Orgue du Temple de Maguelone, will play the organ during a small concert of about 20 minutes.
François Devienne, president of the AOTM.
