Literary encounter with Charlotte around the French translation of her first novel, "Les Jeux heureux de l'enfance".
In the suburbs of Dresden during the 1970s, 16-year-old Karin takes care of her younger sister after school. While his grandmother remembers her youth under the Nazi regime, his parents dream of another life. But when her boyfriend, Paul, does not return from a hike, it is Karin whom the Stasi questions. The young woman is then drawn into a world of surveillance and suspicion, where each choice can change her destiny.
"The Happy Games of Childhood" is a vibrant fresco, as intimate as it is universal, which plunges us into a bygone world whose aftermath still lingers today.
